Wonderful illustrations - good information

The echocardiography images in this book are of such good quality that they alone justify buying the book. Generally the text is concise and informative, giving up to the minute information in many areas of equine cardiology.
2 minor criticisms: Firstly, the information currently known about heart rate variability in the horse (and other species) is so slight that it probably did not justify its own chapter. Secondly, little to no information is given regarding support of the cardiovascular system during intensive care of horses - this is an emerging field of more relevance to day to day treatment of horses than heart rate variability.
Overall this is the best source of information on equine cardiology available. Although all of the standard textbooks on Equine Medicine (Reed and Bayly, Smith) have cardiology chapters, the extra information in this book and the fabulous illustrations justify its purchase.

The Maverick Prince by Catherine Mann is another sensational story by a compelling author.

Shannon Crawford's world had come crashing down when her husband took his own life. He left her to deal with a scandal and a young son to raise. She was very cautious when she started seeing Tony Castillo, he was a shipping magnate but seemed so down to earth.
Imagine her shock that Tony was really Antonio Medina a royal prince.

Tony Castillo fled his structure world many years ago and built a good life for himself. When the truth of his real identity hit the tabloids, he has to protect Shannon and her son from the fall out.

Tony whisks them to his father's island hideaway till the furor dies down. But he also wants to get back into Shannon's good graces. The tropical setting proves and ideal place for romance and fun filled days.

Tony has to work double time to gain Shannon's trust after more gossip hits the tabloids. Can these two lovers get back on track or will the gossips win?

The Maverick Prince is another gem by a favorite author of mine. You can always depend on a complete story no matter the format. Tony and Shannon have an unconventional courtship and their chemistry is off the charts. The characters are fully developed and ones that you fall in love with. I am looking forward to the next book in this family saga.

I loved it, and would recommend that people buy it. It is a love story with a few twist but, l loved it. Most women would love to have a man love them like this and the wealth that he had, would be a bonus. I will re-read this book because it was will written and the story line kept you hooked.............

Innovative ideas with a new perspective to generate a new revolution for respect

The title was intriguing - creating a contagious culture of respect.
It is not often that I can say I enjoyed discussing a virus - the respect virus. This book is very easy to read, entertaining and offers new ways to think about respect.

I enjoyed the Mickey Mouse theory of Interpersonal Communication and the chair theory. It opened my mind to really think about the three sides of perspective.
But my favorite strategy is creating a personal engagement plan. I love the idea of two minutes every day totally engaging directly with a person and learning more about each other.

Now that I have infected your brain with a song, I want to spread another virus; The Respect Virus. Diane Windingland has written a clear and concise book on the use of genuine respect as a management tool. She gives us the means to help make not only our lives easier, but also those who must deal with us on a daily basis. With the “Platinum Rule Plus”, she outdoes the “Golden Rule” by a longshot. Don’t treat people how you would like to be treated. Rather, “Treat other people the way their best selves would want your best self to treat them.” With that as her goal, she moves us from “gridlock to dialogue” in less than sixty pages, using a great number of examples, exercises and gentle humor along the way.

Nothing here is groundbreaking. It doesn’t have to be. We know that we should listen. We should be kind. We should see other sides of an argument. We should. But we often forget to. That is where this book helps. Be considerate, be grateful, and infect with respect.

"The Respect Virus" is much more than a book about the importance and value of respect. It's a practical and easy-to-incorporate guide to improving communication and relationships -- both personal and professional. (In fact, it could have been called "How to Win Friends and Influence People," except that that title was already taken.) The author uses entertaining and engaging examples to demonstrate her points and her recommendations, and the book can easily be read in less than an hour. I'd love to see the Respect Virus spread throughout the world -- we'd have a much healthier planet if it did!

I'm an 8th grader and recently we've been learning all about the westward movement in the mid-1800's. Now, I haven't been read TO since about third grade, but our school librarian has been coming in to my history class and reading Patty Reed's Doll to us. I loved the story, and reccommend it to people of all ages. It was very educational, too, because it made me realize how hard the journey must have been. It made me feel like I was traveling with the Donner party across America. If you're looking for a good historical fiction, I suggest you try this book. IT'S THE BEST!!! :-)
